Ernestina Fosu, elder sister of the late Highlife legend Daddy Lumba, has reflected on her close bond with the musician and how she once supported his career.
In an interview shared on Instagram on April 7, 2026, Fosu emphasized that she never asked her brother for money despite his wealth, asserting, “I am not a beggar.”
“What I remember is that when I was going to kindergarten, he cried and wanted to follow me. Since then, we have been very close. We became distant later in life due to marriage. But he used to call me all the time. I am not a beggar, so despite all his money, I never asked him for any,” she recounted.
She also shared an early anecdote about selling her television set to support him during the beginnings of his career.
“We are only three siblings. I even remember asking my mother how she would give Charles money when he started earning because he is a man. I used to think about him all the time,” she added, highlighting the depth of her care and commitment to her brother.
