Ghanaian actor Kwaku Manu has weighed in on ongoing discussions surrounding xenophobic tensions affecting some foreign nationals, including Ghanaians, in South Africa.

Speaking in an interview with GhanaWeb on April 26, 2026, the Kumawood star shared his perspective on the root causes of the issue and called for greater unity among Africans.

According to Kwaku Manu, conflicts between African nationals living in South Africa should be addressed through dialogue and cooperation rather than division. He emphasized the importance of focusing on long-term solutions that promote peaceful coexistence.

“We should come together as Africans,” he said, urging citizens to reflect on broader economic and social challenges rather than directing frustration at fellow Africans.

He also pointed to concerns about economic inequality and ownership structures within the country, suggesting that deeper systemic issues may be contributing to tensions.

While sharing his views, the actor encouraged individuals to prioritise productive engagement, including seeking employment and contributing positively to society.

“People should focus on building their lives and working toward a better future,” he added.

Kwaku Manu’s comments have sparked mixed reactions online. Some agree with his call for African unity and dialogue, while others believe the situation is more complex and requires broader policy and economic reforms.

The conversation reflects a wider debate about xenophobia, economic opportunity, and social cohesion in South Africa. Many observers continue to stress the importance of addressing underlying challenges while promoting tolerance and mutual respect among communities.
