  • Avoiding Distractions from Core Duties
  • Wider Conversation on Leadership in the Digital Age

His comments come in the wake of recent online exchanges involving the minister and broadcaster Paul Adom-Otchere, which sparked discussion across digital platforms.

Call for Restraint in Public Engagements

In a video shared on social media and sighted on April 15, 2026, Kwaku Manu cautioned the minister against engaging in unnecessary public back-and-forths, stressing that his position demands a higher level of discretion and professionalism.

He noted that public office holders must be mindful of their responses to criticism, as their actions often reflect on the institutions they represent.

According to him, maintaining composure in public discourse is essential for effective leadership and long-term credibility.

Leadership and Responsibility in Focus

The actor further reflected on the importance of the Ashanti Region in Ghana’s political and cultural landscape, describing it as one of the country’s most significant regions after Accra.

He emphasized that individuals in leadership positions must be especially careful in their public communications, as they are constantly under public scrutiny.

Kwaku Manu suggested that how leaders respond to criticism can either strengthen or weaken public confidence in their leadership.

Avoiding Distractions from Core Duties

He also cautioned that frequent engagement with critics on social media could distract public officials from their core responsibilities.

According to him, leaders should prioritize governance and service delivery rather than becoming entangled in online disputes.

He stressed that maintaining focus on official duties is key to effective leadership performance.

Wider Conversation on Leadership in the Digital Age

Kwaku Manu’s comments contribute to a broader national discussion on how public officials should manage criticism in the era of social media, where public reactions are immediate and highly visible.

As digital platforms continue to shape public perception, the balance between communication, accountability, and restraint remains a growing concern in governance and public leadership.
