Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has strongly denied allegations made by fellow musician Stonebwoy regarding comments about the death of Stonebwoy’s mother.
The ongoing tension between the two artists resurfaced after Stonebwoy, in a recent interview on Angel FM, claimed that Shatta Wale had previously accused him of being responsible for the death of his late mother, Catherine Satekla.
Stonebwoy described the alleged comment as deeply painful and said it remains one of the key reasons their long-standing feud has not been resolved.

Shatta Wale Responds
Reacting during a live session on TikTok on April 8, 2026, Shatta Wale dismissed the claims, insisting that he has never made such a statement.
He challenged Stonebwoy—or anyone else—to provide evidence to support the allegation.
“If I ever said such a thing about Stonebwoy, then someone should prove it, because I do everything on the internet, especially when it comes to entertainment,” he said.
Shatta Wale further explained that a screenshot being referenced was taken out of context, noting that it was from an old video where he was addressing Joy FM, not Stonebwoy.
“I wasn’t referring to Stonebwoy. That is why I always say we shouldn’t allow ourselves to be misled by the media,” he added.
Warning Against “False Narratives”
The “On God” hitmaker also cautioned Stonebwoy against what he described as the repeated spread of false narratives.
According to him, such claims create an unfair public perception and damage his reputation.
“Even if I lack sense, I would never make such a statement about someone’s death,” he stated.
Shatta Wale questioned why the issue continues to be raised, suggesting that it portrays him negatively in the eyes of the public.
“Sometimes when I come across such claims, I wonder what he is trying to achieve. Why does he want people to see me as a bad person?” he asked.
Ongoing Rivalry
The exchange highlights the continued rivalry between the two award-winning artistes, who have had a history of public disagreements despite occasional calls for unity within Ghana’s music industry.
While fans have often hoped for reconciliation, lingering issues such as this continue to strain relations between the camps of both artists.
