Sarkodie and a few Ghanaian celebrities like Yvonne nelson have in recent times spoken truth to power with their social media handles. Sarkodie especially goes a bit further to castigate the performance of previous government in the past years artistically with his music.
In an interview with Kwame Owusu Danso, he made reference to a woman who has openly called Sarkodie a hypocrite and pro-NPP. According to her, Sarkodie seems to have a problem with the NDC government and churns out songs that list their flaws and throws light on them which made a great impact because of the numbers he commands and his influence. Such songs in previous times have caused national conversations and have been an eye-opener to most people who were ignorant of some of the issues happening in the nation. It also forced the hands of others who were reticent about happenings to also speak upon such matters.

While some support the woman and question Sarkodie’s silence on the NPP government in spite of the glaring problems in the system, others also say, it’s too early for people to draw such conclusions since there hasn’t been enough data to support their point.
Another part of the team on Zylofon’s Showbiz Agenda also asked people to stop fingering Sarkodie for his silence since he is entitled to it and has asked them to look to other artists in Ghana to also talk on matters like that and not force only Sarkodie because he uses to do it.
