The future of the Black Stars technical team remains uncertain following the dismissal of head coach Otto Addo after a run of poor performances.
The former Borussia Dortmund scout was relieved of his duties after Ghana suffered defeats in international friendlies against Austria and Germany, results that sparked widespread public frustration.
Members of the technical team include John Paintsil, Fatau Dauda, and Desmond Offei. Following a recent expansion, the backroom staff was further strengthened with additions such as Alain Ravera, Kim Lars Björkegren, Gregory De Grauwe, Daniel Martínez Alfonso, and physiotherapist Carlos Lozano Romero.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) had expanded the technical team to support Otto Addo and enhance performance, but that strategy has now been thrown into doubt following his departure.

As a result, uncertainty surrounds whether the GFA will retain the current staff to work with a new head coach ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup or disband the unit entirely to allow a fresh setup.
Should the GFA appoint an interim coach from within the existing technical team, the likelihood of retaining the current backroom staff increases. However, if an external coach is brought in, the association may opt to make changes, or the incoming manager could decide the fate of the team, as many coaches prefer working with their own trusted staff.
Since Otto Addo’s dismissal, the GFA has yet to make any official statement regarding the future of the technical team, as attention remains focused on securing a new head coach with the World Cup fast approaching.
