Sarkodie in a recent tweet has called on event promoters, precisely Ghanaian event promoters outside Ghana to unite. He also added that in this New Year, they should forget about their selfish “I did it “concept and move towards a more altruistic “we did it” agenda in order to make the year a good one.
While most of his fans and industry players seconded and applauded the tweet, others like rapper Ayigbe Edem also responded that artists should also try and emulate the same standards they preach.

He replied that artists shouldn’t always push only people in their camps for shows abroad when a promoter comes looking; other artists from other camps who are doing tremendously well at a given time should also be recommended for such gigs. Tweeting “Artiste for also stop put promoters under camp umbrella… so they can do it for everyone… That way Ghana is seen.”
Both tweets have garnered a lot of diverse opinions on the matter and some controversies around it.
