RuffTown Records signee, Wendy Shay threatened to sue the producers of ‘Slay’ when she found out they used one of her songs as the movie’s soundtrack without her consent.
She took to social media to register her displeasure and gave the producers a chance to make things right. Her hit single, “All For You” had been used to score a party scene in the movie.
“So, I watched this movie last night on Netflix and my song, ‘All for you’ was featured without my consent or that of my management. Producers of the movie ‘Slay’, it is a crime to use someone’s intellectual property without her consent. Kindly do the needful or I will see y’all in court” she captioned the post.

Netflix flagged Slay and removed it from the platform, however, neither the streaming site nor the has said anything officially concerning the mishap.
The Elvis Chuks-produced movie, according to Pulse Nigeria had already hit number one in some countries due to the presence of actors from various countries on the continent.
Produced by Elvis Chucks and directed by Adze Ugah, ‘Slay’ stars Ramsey Nouah, Idris Sultan, Amanda du-Pont and Ghanaian actors such as Kalybos and Bismark The Joke. The comedy premiered on the streaming platform on April 26, 2021.
