The Wrowroho hitmaker, Agbeshie, like many others have expressed their displeasure at the 3Music Award Scheme for being categorized as a next rated artist. The next rated category has been expatiated by the scheme as to be synonymous with the unsung category.
However, the popular Volta Region artist has had a national hit with Ghana’s best rapper, Medikal. Though unhappy about the category, Agbeshie has maintained his composure and has mildly expressed his displeasure but has humbly accepted the category since he believes the Scheme knows best.
On the other hand, Arnold Elevanyo and other pundits have called out the 3Music Award Organizers to take a second look at Agbeshie’s category, since the next rated category seems to undermine or underrate his works, success, and hits over the years. He opines that, though Agbeshie reps the Volta Region of Ghana, he has had nation hits and regional hits not forgetting his big concerts which seems to have elevated the status of the musician from next rated to either breakthrough art or other categories.

Agbeshie is currently promoting his new single “s3k3” with its signature dance. He also used the platform to defuse the protests against his nomination as the artist of the year for the upcoming Volta music Awards responding that, contrary to allegations that he should withdraw from the awards since he hasn’t done any hit song the year under review, albeit not a hit, he has been working hard and releasing some songs in the year and artists don’t need to have a hit song to be considered as the artist of the year.
