Ghanaian businessman and founder of Bills Micro Credit Limited, Richard Nii Armah Quaye, has addressed circulating claims about his wealth in the wake of his reported divorce.
In excerpts from an upcoming interview with media personality Deloris Frimpong Manso, widely known as Delay, the entrepreneur pushed back against suggestions that his ex-wife played a central role in building his financial success.
Rejects Popular Narrative
According to Richard Nii Armah, claims that his former partner significantly contributed to his wealth are largely inaccurate.
“I was working before I married her. I started my business before I married her. I started making money before I went to marry her,” he stated.
He further explained that his financial stability predates the marriage, emphasizing that he had already laid the foundation for his business success.
Comments on Wedding and Financial Status
The businessman pointed to the scale of their wedding as evidence of his financial standing at the time.
“If I didn’t have money, I couldn’t have married her, because we had a very luxurious wedding… I funded our wedding,” he said.
He maintained that his ability to finance such an event independently reflects his financial position before the marriage.
Clarifies Viral Throwback Photo
Addressing a widely circulated photo that some social media users have used to suggest he was struggling financially at the time, Richard Nii Armah dismissed the interpretation.
He explained that the image was taken during an outing with his then-partner and does not reflect his true financial situation.
According to him, he owned and drove a fully air-conditioned Volkswagen Passat at the time—an indication, he says, that he was already financially stable.
Ongoing Public Interest
The interview comes amid heightened public attention surrounding his personal life, with many social media users debating the realities behind wealth, relationships, and success stories.
The Bigger Picture
Richard Nii Armah’s comments highlight a broader conversation about public perception, success narratives, and relationships, especially when high-profile breakups become topics of public discussion.
In the digital age, personal stories are often reshaped by online commentary—sometimes blurring the line between fact and speculation.
