GFA Shortlists Three Coaches for Black Stars Job — Reports

Three candidates have reportedly been shortlisted for the vacant Black Stars head coach position, with the Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) set to meet today, April 7, 2026, to deliberate and select a preferred candidate.

The development follows the departure of Otto Addo at the end of March 2026, after a string of disappointing results. Ghana suffered a 2–1 defeat to Germany and a heavy 5–1 loss to Austria during the March international break.

Otto Addo’s exit leaves Ghana without a permanent head coach just months ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Black Stars have struggled with consistency in recent matches, raising concerns over team cohesion, defensive organisation, and overall preparedness for the global tournament.
Ghana faces a tough challenge at the World Cup, having been drawn in a group alongside Croatia, England, and Panama.

Reports indicate that the GFA Executive Committee will review the shortlisted candidates and make a recommendation, which will then be forwarded for further consultations with the government before an official announcement is made.
