When it comes to attending weddings, guests should follow a simple rule – dress appropriately. Guests should remember that it’s not their wedding.
A photo of a woman attending a wedding has gone viral on social media as many people assumed that she was the bride – she was wearing white!
“Found this whilst looking at a hashtag for a wedding venue… That is not the bride,” the photo shared on Reddit is captioned.
The person who posted the photo said that they knew that the woman was not the bride as she’d also posted images with the newlyweds and thanked them for the invite in her caption.

Netizens were quick to say that it was a bad idea to wear white on someone else’s wedding day. Many wanted to know where they could get the dress for themselves.
One user said, “I thought this was a post in r/weddingdress and was gonna comment ‘that looks amazing’.” Another wrote, “Oof. That would be a great wedding dress though.”
A third user commented, “I have the same/very similar dress but in a mint colour! I wore it to a schools ball (prom for Americans basically). Couldn’t imagine wearing it to a wedding though?”
Yet another added, “Wearing a white/cream dress of any style is a taboo at weddings unless the bride specifically asks close female family members to wear white (it’s a Southern thing, I believe). You just don’t do it! No matter how well the dress looks on you!”
