Dancehall god Stonebwoy aka the ‘1Gad’ has hit hard at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) board for taking a decision with him and Shata Wale’s consent prior to lift the ban on them.

Stonebwoy went on a rant on his Twitter account after news came out that the VGMA has lifted the ban on him and Wale.
However, both Wale and now Stonebwoy have complained about not being consulted by the award scheme before taking a decision on their ban.

In particular, Stonebwoy sort of had a challenge with the portion of the statement that read: “…if they so desire”.
Stonebwoy was of the opinion that the VGMA board should have given them a fair hearing before taking the decision two years ago and should have done same before lifting the ban.
His tweet read: “Dear VGMA Board & Scheme organisers,I hear the purpose of the VGMA is to celebrate and project Ghanaian musicians and music. If that is so, it takes nothing from you to meet with us the artistes/ our reps b4 reaching decisions that affect us and communicating them to the public.
