Secular Artistes Are ‘Valued’ More Than Gospel Artistes In Ghana – Akesse Brempong

Akesse Brempong was the guest of the day on the Showbiz daily show with Sammy flex on Sammy Flex.

Discussing the problems Gospel musicians face in the industry. Akesse Brempong lamented on the difference in payment between Gospel artistes and secular artiste. Despite Gospel artiste holding annual shows and performing almost every weekend in their churches.

In Ghana, event organizers place intrinsic value on secular artiste at the expense of gospel artists.

He said, ‘Gospel musicians are not paid heavily as compared to secular artiste”.

He further added that “Ghana is a country with lots of musicians having the majority of its population being Christians so why is value is placed on secular musicians ahead of gospel artistes.”
