The legendary TV, film and theatre actor, Shaleen Surtie Richards has passed away.
Shaleen Surtie-Richards was a South African television, stage, and film actress. She is perhaps best known for her starring roles in the 1988 film Fiela se Kind and the long-running series Egoli: Place of Gold.
ShaleenSurtie Richards is also most famous for her roles on soapies such as ‘Mattie’ on Generations and ‘Nenna’ on eGoli. She received many awards during her decades-long career, including a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2014 Royalty Soapie Awards.
Born in Upington on 7 May 1955, she passed away at the age of 66 at her Johannesburg home. The course of her death haven’t been disclosed yet.
Shaleen Surtie Richards a was part of every weekday meal in our household. Her talent was unmatched. The warmth and love she exuded was infectious, all with the most wicked sense of humour. What a loss.mst her should rest in peace.
