Ghanaian gospel artist Diana Hamilton has addressed rumors surrounding her recent collaboration with Nigerian gospel star Mercy Chinwo.
In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Diana clarified that a desire for attention or career advancement did not drive the partnership. Instead, the focus was on creating a powerful gospel song that would inspire and uplift listeners.
“Every song has its unique purpose and message. I believe the person I collaborate with must align with that purpose. It’s never about who can attract the most attention or bring the most traction to the song. It’s about touching lives and ministering to people,” Diana explained.

She also shared her admiration for Mercy Chinwo’s music and talent, noting that the collaboration had been in the works for some time before coming to fruition.
“I would love to collaborate with more artists, but I’m not always around. I remember recording a song once that was meant to feature someone. After recording my part, I sent it to producer Kaywa, but he didn’t like it. I had to fly back from the UK to redo it, and when I did, he loved it, and we produced a masterpiece,” she recalled.
In January 2023, Diana Hamilton released a single titled “The Doing of the Lord,” featuring Mercy Chinwo, which has since become a hit on the airwaves.
