Kumasi-based Silver 98.9 FM burnt to ashes (+ Photos

Silver 98.3 FM, a popular radio station in Kumasi, has been destroyed by fire, according to www.seancitygh.net.

The station, located on the last floor of the Silvercrest building, caught fire on Saturday, March 18, 2023. It is unknown what sparked the fire at the radio station.

In aN interview with DJ KA, a radio journalist with Silver 98.3 fm, the fire began in the early morning hours while their sports crew was preparing for a sports show, and a technician on duty had to jump through the windows to save his life.

According to him, images show almost every single item, particularly electronics, completely burned.

The good news is that no serious casualties were recorded except one. It’s quite unfortunate considering the fact that Kumasi Kejetia Market faced the same fire fate earlier this week.
