A young Kenyan woman, Lishan Kairetu, has opened up about the emotional toll of being a side chick in a relationship, describing it as one of the most painful experiences.
In a viral Instagram video, Kairetu expressed how being a side piece can lead to serious character development, often worse than a regular heartbreak.

“People talk about heartbreak and how painful it is, but let me tell you, that doesn’t even compare. Have you ever been someone’s side chick, and then they break up with the main chick? You think you’re about to be promoted, but instead, you’re completely overlooked. That one hurts,” she said.
She humorously compared the experience to politics, saying, “Imagine being a deputy and expecting a promotion, only for another president to be sworn in.”
Although she admitted to exaggerating some details for comedic effect, her story resonated with many who have faced similar situations in relationships.
