Ghanaian Internet sensation, Fantana’s mother is said to lose her seat despite winning the Jomoro constituency back for the NDC
Ghanaians went to the polls on 7th December 2020 to elect their Parliamentarians and President. Singer Fantana’s mother, Dorcas Affo-Toffey was fortunate to be elected as MP for Jomoro Constituency on the ticket of the NDC.

Report reaching us has it that Fantana’s mother has an American citizenship which makes it a crime in Ghana to hold public office such as an MP.
According to sources as at the time of voting on 7th December 2020 she still held onto her American citizenship. She might be facing issues just like the injunction placed on NDC’s Assin North MP elect over Canadian citizenship.
Instagram blogger identified as Cutie Juls made this revelation on his page.
He wrote,
“Hmm Ghana… La fantana’s mother will be facing the law o.
‘As of 7/12/2020 when she was voted as a Member of Parliament in a Ghanain constituency, she was still and remained an American citizen. You know that’s a crime as per the constitution of Ghana, right?’
