Personal DJ of Sarkodie, DJ Mensah has reacted to Mr Drew’s Song theft Saga.
According to DJ Mensah in a tweet, the first he did when he heard Mr. Drew cover was to ask him if he had cleared all the copyright issues. Mr. Drew’s response was he wasn’t going to monetize it.

He tweeted. ” First thing I did when I heard Mr. Drew’s Cover “Eat” I hit him up and ask if he cleared all copyright issues. He said it was a Riddim and he wasn’t going to monetize it.

He further added that, Mr Drew should have recorded an original song with Stonebwoy since it’s very difficult to get a record with him on the regular.
“Only felt you don’t get stonebwoy on daily basis so might as well have done a complete new song with him which might have ended you some lifetime royalties than a cover that will blow up and not make you any money.”
He also reacted to the viral video circulating of an individual reporting Mr Drew to Rotimi the original owner of the song.

“Too bad it had to come to this. He’s a good artist so we move and a big shame to the snitch. laughing like a killer. The pull him Down syndrome(PHD) in this country is serious.whether he snitched or not, the system would have flagged the song.” He tweeted
Mr Drew’s Song titled EAT featuring Stonebwoy was pulled down by Youtube for copyright violation. The Song happens to be a sample of Love riddim, an original song of American-Nigerian artiste Rotimi. Rotimi had a tip off via Instagram to take action for the song theft which was monetized on Youtube.
