There is a Day Job At Apex Shipping & Commercial Company Limited (ASCO). The company is looking for an experienced Commodities buyer to develop our Commodities Trading desk.
Role Overview:
• The role has the primary responsibility of identifying markets to purchase commodities such as Cashew, Sesame, yellow maize and other seasonal crops.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identity bulk producers.
- Research prospects and generating leads.
- Contact potential and existing customers on the phone, by email, and in person.
- Handle customer questions, inquiries, and complaints.
- Prepare and send quotes and proposals
- Build and maintain a Customer database.
- Meet daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
- Participate in sales team meetings.
- Prepare sales reports to Supervisor
Key Competencies:
- Ability to identify good crops
- Excellent customer service and sales skills
- Strong verbal and written communicator
- Excellent phone and presentation skills
- Good negotation and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter with focus and drive
Preferred Qualification & Experience:
- No University Degree required
- Proven track record as a known trader of commodities
- A minimum three (3) years’ relevant proven experience in sales management
