Grace Valley Farms (GVF) a subsidiary of Acentia Group, has been producing consumable fresh food stuff and dry items on wholesale, to individuals, Ghanaian market, household and offshore rigs over the years. GVF is seeking to employ a professional food scientist to work in the field of fresh juice processing.
Position: Food Scientist
Job Purpose:
Candidate will be responsible for overseeing food production and ensuring product are safe and nutritional. He/she will be involved in the preparation, product improvement, production and evaluation of food sources.
Requirements:
- A degree, diploma or a professional qualification in agribusiness and food processing.
- 2+ years of good experience as a food scientist.
- Advise on ways to make processed foods safe and healthy.
- Test processed foods constantly to ensure wholesomeness.
- Advise on the use of preservative/additives.
- Analysis of food content.
- Prepare and conduct studies to better understand food sustainability.
- Design new food processing policies.
- Identify ways to make food production more efficient, including processing, manufacturing and packaging.
- Study each process of food development, including land conditions and food production.
- Arranging and shipping sales samples.
- Predict food quantities and report estimates of shortages.
- Monitor food safety protocols and design quality assurance policies.
- Test food storage options and make recommendations on improvement.
- Identify new manufacturing procedures.
- Advise on any contaminations preventions.
- Determine cost-effective methods of producing foods.
- Performing other duties assigned by supervisor.
- A background in Juice production or SIR training would be a plus
