The Enterprise Risk Management department under GLICO Holdings is seeking to recruit a competent, committed, and self-motivated candidate with a high integrity level to occupy the position of Risk Officer.
Grade: Non-Management
Responsibilities:
Duties include:
- Assisting Group Head, Enterprise Risk Management in coordinating and implementing risk management strategies across the Group.
- Liaising with departmental heads in ensuring completion of quality departmental risk registers
- Liaising with departments on the adequacy of proposed actions in the management of risks
- Monitoring the implementation of action plans to ensure risk mitigation efforts are proceeding as required
- Proactively identifying emerging risks and reporting to relevant stakeholders
- Monitoring the environment in operational areas, updating situation and risk assessments on a routine basis, and informing Line Manager of current and emerging risks.
- Actively participating in periodic risk assessment exercises across the Group.
- Assisting in developing, initiating, maintaining, and revising policies and procedures for the general operation of the Enterprise Risk Management process.
- Assisting in measuring and controlling all types of risks affecting the Group businesses.
- Communicating and reinforcing enterprise risk management policies.
- Performing any other duties assigned by the Line Manager.
Qualification Skills & Experience
- Degree in Risk Management, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, or related subject
- Part professional qualification in CII, ICA or ACCA
- Appreciable knowledge in enterprise risk management
- Appreciable knowledge of statutory regulations in the financial industry
- Strong report writing skills
- Strong attention to details skills
- Adequate knowledge of Microsoft office suite
- Relevant prior risk management experience will be an added advantage
