Today happens to be the first day of May and as promised, the E-levy has finally been implemented, and people are making complaints across all corners of the country. When this whole E-levy initiative started, many citizens in the country went against such an idea. They thought their opinions were going to count but it all ended up being a fruitless journey.
Go to the social media, and the conversation everywhere is about how we have been finessed as a country by our own leaders. What most people don’t understand is the fact that, the money which goes into corruption is far greater than that which will be created by the E-levy. Why not chase that money instead? Well, a question for the gods.
In a new video online, some market women were asked about their views on this whole taxation issue and this is what one had to say. Yen Ghana made this interview and a woman had to say that looking at the direction of things, if we don’t take care, our leaders will start taxing what goes on in the bedroom between partners.
This is highly impossible but you could see the pain with which she uttered those words. We are facing difficulties so if the little amount we get is going to be taxed, there is no way people aren’t going to complain. The link to the video is right here.
