Update: With reference to the Tema bound loaded low bed truck which got stuck under the Hong Kong footbridge on the George Walker Bush motorway; the police have been assisted by the Ghana Highway Authority and some welders to remove the truck to allow the free and safe flow of traffic.
Meanwhile, the driver of the truck, with registration number WR 1546-U, Isaac Ayittey, has been arrested, and the truck impounded at Odorkor Police station for investigation.
The Police Administration thanks to the motorists and other road users who ply that stretch for their cooperation, and the Ghana Highway Authority, for their timely support.
The Administration cautions all road users to comply with the road traffic laws to avoid preventable road crashes and congestions.
