The streets of Sekondi-Takoradi were transformed into a vibrant hub of festivities on Christmas Day as Empire FM hosted the highly anticipated TadiFest 2024 Masqueraders Carnival.

The grand event, held at John Sarbah Road, brought together thousands of revellers and over 20 masquerade clubs, each with not less than 3,000 members, who belong to the umbrella body, the Confederation of Masquerade Clubs, celebrating the region’s rich cultural heritage through arts, music, and dance.

This year’s carnival was a magnificent showcase of creativity, with the participation of masquerade clubs such as Addy Zee, Oil City, Supreme, Canadian, New Jersey, D.Kay, State, Ohy3 Wako Mamu, Unicorn, Dream Masters, Stage, and USA, to name a few. Each group brought the streets alive with resplendent, colourful costumes in tandem with choreographed dance moves, captivating the large crowds who gathered to experience the magic of the season.

The carnival not only celebrated culture but also highlighted the growing significance of TadiFest as a tourism driver. The Western Regional Director of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Henry Yeleduor, lauded Empire FM, organizers of the event: “TadiFest is an event that has promoted tourism in the region every Christmas, and I want to commend the organizers of TadiFest for this. I believe TadiFest has come to stay,” he intimated.
