Ghanaian rapper Darlington Agyekum, popularly known in showbiz circles as D-Cryme, has made headlines after being elected SRC President of Methodist University Ghana for the 2025/2026 academic year.
The announcement was shared via a celebratory post on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, April 12, 2025, featuring a congratulatory banner that read: “Congrats! Darlington Agyekum (Dr Cryme) SRC President Elect.”
D-Cryme, famous for chart-topping hits like “Kill Me Shy” and “Fine Fine Girl,” had earlier declared his intention to contest the position, promising to build a dynamic and inclusive student environment.
Following his victory, fans and followers have flooded social media with congratulatory messages, applauding his transition from music to leadership.
His win follows a growing trend of Ghanaian musicians stepping into academic leadership. In recent years, Samini was elected SRC President of GIMPA, and Guru currently serves as SRC President at the University of Ghana.
