The life and legacy of Ghanaian highlife music icon Charles Kwadwo Fosu, widely known as Daddy Lumba, will be honoured with a one-week observation at the University of Ghana (Legon) Sports Stadium on Saturday, August 30, 2025.
The announcement was confirmed in a post by DL FM, following earlier communication from the Ekuona Royal Family of Nsuta, to which the late musician belonged.
According to the family’s head, the Abusuapanyin, the Accra-based event will allow fans, music lovers, and sympathizers from across Ghana to pay their final respects before the main funeral rites in Kumasi.
The family revealed that the decision on the venues was made after a formal visit to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to officially inform him of Daddy Lumba’s passing.
“When we officially informed the Asantehene of the passing of Daddy Lumba, he reminded us that Daddy Lumba is a royal,” the Abusuapanyin explained.
