Sexual assault affects a staggering number of women. Although pinning down exact numbers is no easy task, tweeps are worried about socialite Zodwa Wabantu after a video of her sexually assaulted by a fan at a gig surfaced. Many Tweeps found the video disturbing, with some saying it is sexual abuse.
Zodwa Wabantu is known for getting close to her fans during her performances but the fan’s actions where he touches her between the legs was not received well.
Taking to their Twitter accounts, fans raised their concerns. One Tweep said:”nothing about that video of Zodwa Wabantu being sexually assaulted is funny or okay. it does not matter that Zodwa is a sexually liberated woman, wears revealing clothing, you do not have the right to touch people in their private areas EVER.”
Another user said:”My worry is that this boy here is gonna think this is right. Whether Zodwa is okay with or not..remains wrong. This boy is gonna do this to somebody else. We must learn to respect women.” It’s not the first time Zodwa Wabantu’s fans are not happy with a video of her being “touched inappropriately” by male fans.
However, not everyone was bothered by the video, as they felt the same thing had happened to Cassper Nyovest. One Twitter user said:”What happened to Zodwa same thing that happened to Cassper, fans must learn to control themselves.” Another one said:”Zodwa will come out and say that was not sexual assault because those fans are the one who gives her money when she performs, if she says it’s not sexual assault who are you to say it’s assault? Relax.”
