Ghanaian-based Liberian singer and songwriter, Irene Logan has made a shocking revelation of how depression led her to abuse the use of hard drugs and how she was able to quit such habits.

Most people engage in a lot of activities when depressed. While others find their way out and change from their despicable acts, many also find it difficult to quit, and eventually, it becomes an addiction.

Most celebrities are into the abuse of dangerous substances in order to feel that they have situations under control. There have been many cases where drug abuse destroyed most people’s careers.

Irene Logan in an interview with Ghanaian TV presenter and media consultant, Stacy Amoateng, revealed that pressure and trolls from her fans led her to abuse drugs.

She stated in the video that fans used to disrespect her and described her as a failure in the music industry.

She revealed that although she has hope that the Lord will come to her aid she still smoked two packs of cigarettes daily.

There were times I cried, There were times I felt like dying. I started smoking heavily. Before I surrendered, I went through my period of depression, I used to smoke two packs of cigarettes a day and when I’m tired of the cigarette I go in for “shisha” just to get through the pain” she said.

Irene stated that after she surrendered, things began to turn around in her favor as she began to see positive things in her life.
