World soccer ruling body, FIFA, has imposed a 150,000 Swiss Franc (about 154,128.75 USD) fine on Nigeria following the chaos that erupted at the Moshood Abiola Sports Stadium during the World Cup qualifying match against Ghana back in April.

Fans of the Super Eagles who were in a buoyant mood and expected their team to dispatch the Black Stars went berserk after Ghana pimped them to the sole ticket to the global showpiece to be staged in November this year with a 1-1 draw.

FIFA’s Disciplinary Committee decried the poor organization of the match for lack of order and security at the match, adding there was a failure to implement existing safety rules and failure to ensure that law and order are maintained in the stadium, invasion of the field of play and throwing of objects.

Apart from the 150,000 CHF fine, Nigeria will play its next home match without fans.
