The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has released an official communique confirming their recent operation at the residence of Ghanaian dancehall star, Shatta Wale.

According to the statement, the visit—carried out by EOCO’s Surveillance and Asset Recovery Unit (SARU)—resulted in the seizure of a 2019 Lamborghini Urus. The luxury vehicle, EOCO revealed, is believed to be linked to criminal proceedings involving Nana Kwabena Amuah, who is currently serving an 86-month prison sentence in the United States for multiple financial crimes.

“The operation led to the discovery and seizure of a 2019 Lamborghini Urus, which has been traced by the FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice to the proceeds of a criminal enterprise run by Nana Kwabena Amuah,” the communique stated.
EOCO confirmed that the vehicle was found in the possession of Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale. The agency emphasized that the search and seizure were carried out professionally and without incident.

Interestingly, the report noted that Shatta Wale reportedly requested EOCO officials to keep the seizure discreet, expressing concern that public knowledge of the incident could harm his brand image. “He pleaded with officers not to make the operation public, citing that the car played a major role in his public persona and its removal could damage his reputation,” the statement added.

EOCO has not yet announced whether further investigations will be conducted into the artiste’s involvement in the case.
