Finally, today the E-levy begins it’s actions.
The E-levy, is a form of tax which applies to transactions you make on your Mobile money account. It was scheduled to begin its implementation today and then true to their words, the E-levy has began. The image below shows a list of the E-levy charges per the amount you send.
Many Ghanaians are not in agreement with the implementation of this taxing system as some of them claim that the economy today is hard and then they are also implementing more taxes. Again, other Ghanaians have planned to shun the use of their mobile wallets and stick to the use of physical cash to avoid the E-levy.
