There is this notion that before you can be on TV to be a presenter, an actress or an actor, your face and body must be attractive.
This according to Ken Fiate in an interview with Zionfelix is dwindling the Ghana movie industry. The actor stated that Ghana movie industry is all about glamour. If you don’t have it, then you won’t get a role in a movie.
He recounted his experience in his interview and he stated that he auditioned for a role sometime back. The director told him he fits perfectly for the role. But he disclosed that the director told him they cannot pick him because he is too dark.

Furthermore, he stated that a week after his incidence, the same director called him again for a different role. But he told the director that he hasn’t bleached yet.
He stated that if movies are a replica of what happens in real life, then why can’t we showcase the truth in our movies.
Finally, he indicated that there should be diversity in movie casting.
