This year’s Ghana Vodafone Music Award saw some some surprises in terms of the winners of particular awards which were less expected.
Following the ban of Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, two of the biggest artist in Ghanaian music industry. The Afrobeat category which has been recently dominated by these two became more open as they were absent this time.

The Afrobeats Song of the year category saw Kelvynboy’s Mea which featured Joey B being nominated but unfortunately failed to emerge as the winner. It was Dopenation who won the award for the category with their ‘Zanku’ song.
Meanwhile, in a video making rounds on social media, Kelvynboy is seen walking out of the auditorium while Dopenation stepped up to receive the award.

Also, Adina was in the middle of her performance on the night as he passed by the side of the stage to go out.
However, the departure of Kelvynboy from the auditorium is yet to be confirmed if it was as a result of him losing out on the award or not
