Liam Payne, known for his time with One Direction, has tragically passed away in Argentina, as confirmed by TMZ.
Witnesses reported that Payne fell from his third-floor balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires. The circumstances surrounding the fall remain unclear, with sources noting his erratic behavior earlier in the day, including smashing his laptop in the hotel lobby.
Payne, 31, leaves behind his 7-year-old son, Bear, whom he shares with singer Cheryl. He was in Argentina earlier this month to attend a concert by his former bandmate, Niall Horan.

Shortly before his death, Payne shared videos on Snapchat from his time in Argentina with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy. His last posts showed them together, with captions expressing his happiness about the trip.
The singer rose to fame at 16 when he, along with Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, and Louis Tomlinson, formed One Direction on The X Factor in 2010. Although they didn’t win the competition, they became one of the best-selling boy bands of all time under Simon Cowell’s label, Syco Music.
After Zayn Malik left the band in 2015 to pursue a solo career, One Direction disbanded a year later. Payne released his debut album, LP1, in December 2019, featuring hits like “Strip That Down,” “Get Low,” and “Bedroom Floor.” He also contributed to the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack with “For You,” a duet with Rita Ora.
Juicy J, who collaborated with Payne on “You,” expressed his shock and condolences on X, writing, “R.I.P. Liam Payne wow I can’t believe it prayers up for the family 🙏🏿.” Fifty Shades author E.L. James also shared her heartbreak over Payne’s passing, offering sincere condolences to his family.
