Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has said that he has not been induced financially to endorse SIDICOIN.
Stonebwoy was called out on Twitter for sharing flyers of SIDICOIN encouraging Ghanaians to invest in the scheme.
There were claims that he had gone to take money from the owners and was encouraging Ghanaians to invest when he had not invested in the scheme.
But in a statement shared on his social media handles, Stonebwoy indicated that he is neither an ambassador nor a member of the scheme.
Rather he has developed an interest in NFT and cryptocurrency and thought that it was a medium to learn and help others to also learn.
He apologized to the people of Ghana for the blunder indicating that he had to hasten slowly in sharing the advertisement.
Meanwhile, the Bank of Ghana has indicated that SIDICOIN is not regulated and has not been given the needed license to operate.
It cautioned Ghanaians against investing in the scheme and called on Banks and Financial Institutions to desist from facilitating payments on such platforms.
