Wizkid Becomes The Most Awarded African Artiste In The History Of BET

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun popularly known as Wizkid has become the most decorated African artiste in the history of the Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards. 


This year’s BET Awards came off yesterday, 28th June, 2020 and saw the “Manya” hitmaker add another prestigious award to his list of achievements. The song ‘Brown Skin Girl’ which he did with Beyonce on the Lion King: The Gift album won an award in the ‘BET HER award’ category.

He now has three BET awards to his name, the most any African artiste has ever won. Other artistes on the continent who follow him closely are Burna Boy and Sarkodie with two awards each at the BET.
